Online Program with One In-Person Weekend in Hamilton, Canada

The early-bird Special discount is $4995 per registrant for the first ten complete registrations, which opens on January 2, 2025, at 09:00 AM.

This extended fundamental level introduces the basic concepts of acupuncture treatment, including the neuroanatomical, evidence-based, and basic science approach to common musculoskeletal conditions.  Safety issues and potential complications from acupuncture treatments will be discussed.  Topics such as dry needling, trigger point applications, and electrical stimulation will be explored.  Online lecture format will be used for the lectures and the written and practical examinations.  There will be one weekend of in-person practical sessions to practice safe needling in small group sessions in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.  There will be self-study components to explore more in-depth theoretical foundations of acupuncture and to plan for treatment protocols.  The registrant may claim up to 200 hours of credits for work completed.  The core components consist of 50 in-person or online contact hours through Zoom.  The extra hours of self-study (150 hours) are available for registrants to meet the requirements of their regulatory colleges or boards.  Physicians from the United States requiring 300 hours of training should contact us before registering.

ONLINE PROGRAM (with one weekend of in-person practical sessions in Hamilton, Ontario)
From March 1, 2025, Archived point anatomy and point location videos will be available to be watched before practical sessions.

Practical session dates.  These six half days are mandatory to attend at the scheduled slots.  Five half-days are in person, and one half-day of practical point consolidation is held over Zoom.

The practical dates are Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 9:15 PM in person in Hamilton, Ontario.

Live lectures are at the same time as the in-person program on Friday, March 28, 2025 and Friday, April 25, 2025 08:00-5:30 PM.  For the online cohort, lectures are available to watch on your own time until the day of the exam, May 9, 2025.

In order to be accepted into the program, registrants are required to have a smartphone and a computer with a camera and high-speed internet.  A program equivalent to Safe-Exam Browser will need to be successfully added.  A staff member will contact you to make sure your computer and phone are in compliance.

Note: Registrants from the in-person cohort wanting to participate in any of the online components must pay the difference between the full online program fee and the fee they paid, and their registration will be changed to online status.  No switching or changing to the online cohort from the in-person cohort is allowed within 30 days or less from the date of the Fundamental examination.

Students must successfully pass the written and practical examinations within two years of registering and starting the acupuncture program.  Otherwise, students will not be admitted to the examinations unless they have taken a refresher course and completed all the practical session requirements again.
