Basic Concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Course 3A25. Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
This course introduces the basic concepts of TCM. Topics include the theories of Ying and Yang energy balance, Meridian pathways, the Five Elements, Zang-Fu Organs, Tongue-Pulse diagnosis and basic concepts of point selections using TCM diagnosis. More advanced theories of TCM will be explored such as advanced Zang-Fu concepts, etiology and pathogenesis, differentiation of syndrome and diagnostic methods.
Pre-requisite: Course 1A20 unless with the permission of the instructor. Completion of course 1B20 and 1C20 are strongly recommended
Course 3B25. Meridian Theories
The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with Meridian theories and their application’s to common MSK problems. Students will be able to identify the meridian involved and develop treatment protocols.
Pre-requisite: Course 1A20, and 3A25 unless with the permission of the instructor.
Fundamental Concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Course 3C25 Tongue-Pulse diagnosis
DragonTCM diagnosis depends on the ability to collect information from examining the tongue and palpating the pulse. This course will expand on previous course material and theories on Tongue-Pulse diagnosis. Students will be able to further practice examining the tongue and palpating the pulse under supervision.
Pre-requisite: Course 1A20 and 3A25 unless with the permission of the instructor.
Course 3D25 Five Element Theories
This course expands on the Five Element theories. The relationships between the five elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Earth, and Fire will be explored and discussed at great depth.
